Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels. Trim the asparagus and set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Cook Asparagus: Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften but still retain a bit of crunch.

Add Shrimp: Push the asparagus to one side of the skillet and add the shrimp. Season the shrimp with a little more salt and pepper, and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are pink and opaque.

Combine & Finish: Drizzle the lemon juice over the shrimp and asparagus, gently tossing to combine all ingredients evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve hot over rice or quinoa if desired.
