Ingredients

20 large pasta shells

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Shells: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta shells and cook according to package directions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped spinach, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Stuff the Shells: Spread about 1/2 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Take each cooked shell and fill it generously with the spinach and cheese mixture. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish, open side up.

Add Sauce and Cheese: Once all shells are filled and in the dish, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
