Ingredients

1 package (2 rolls) refrigerated crescent dough

2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

1 cup powdered sugar (optional, for drizzle)

1-2 tablespoons milk (optional, for drizzle)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Apples: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Stir until the apples are well coated. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a floured surface. Carefully separate the dough into triangles along the perforations.

Fill the Bites: Place a generous tablespoon of the apple mixture at the wider end of each triangle. Fold the edges over the filling and roll it up tightly, starting from the wide end. Place the bites seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Prepare the Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush this mixture over the top of each apple bite to give them a golden finish when baked.

Bake: Bake the apple pie bites in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.

Make the Drizzle (Optional): While the bites are baking, whisk together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until you reach a drizzling consistency. Adjust the amount of milk based on your desired thickness.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the apple bites from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with the optional icing and serve warm.
