Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

4 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat)

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1/2 cup ranch dressing or your favorite sauce

Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken breasts. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor.

Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Bread the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off. Dredge each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing to ensure the coating adheres well. Set aside on a plate.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of the flour mixture into the oil; if it sizzles immediately, it’s ready.

Fry the Chicken: Carefully place the coated chicken breasts into the hot oil, taking care not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C). Remove and let the chicken drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Assemble the Wraps: On each tortilla, layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese. Slice the fried chicken into strips and place them on top. Drizzle with ranch dressing or your preferred sauce.

Wrap It Up: Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll from the bottom up to create a wrap. Slice in half if desired, and garnish with cilantro or parsley.

Serve: Enjoy these crispy chicken wraps warm, with extra ranch on the side for dipping!
