Crispy Garlic Air-Fried Mushrooms

1 pound (450g) fresh button or cremini mushrooms

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for added flavor)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. If they are large, you can slice them in half; otherwise, leave them whole.

    Mix the Coating: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well combined.

      Coat the Mushrooms: Add the cleaned mushrooms into the bowl with the seasoning mixture. Toss them gently to ensure each mushroom is evenly coated with the garlic-oil mixture.

        Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

          Air Fry the Mushrooms: Place the coated mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If necessary, cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.

            Add Parmesan (optional): If using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the mushrooms during the last 3 minutes of cooking for a crispy, cheesy finish.
