Ingredients

6 large pickles (dill or kosher)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil spray for air frying

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: Cut the pickles in half lengthwise and then cut each half into quarters to create spears. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Set Up Breading Stations: In three separate bowls, place the flour in one, whisk the eggs in another, and combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in the third bowl.

Coat the Pickles: Take each pickle spear and dip it into the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally, coat it evenly with the seasoned breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to make sure the breadcrumbs stick well.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.

Arrange in the Air Fryer: Lightly spritz the air fryer basket with oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the breaded pickle spears in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch for even cooking. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Air Fry the Pickles: Spray the tops of the pickle spears lightly with oil. Air fry for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.

Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove the pickle spears from the air fryer and allow them to cool for a minute. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or spicy aioli.
