Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, whisking until smooth. Add in the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Add Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Incorporate Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Layer Caramel: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the batter, then spoon the remaining batter on top, spreading it gently. Finally, drizzle the rest of the salted caramel over the top.

Swirl the Caramel: Using a knife or a skewer, lightly swirl the caramel into the top layer of the batter to create a marbled effect, but avoid mixing it in completely.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully lift the blondies using the parchment overhang and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Before serving, sprinkle the top with flaky sea salt.

Slice and Enjoy: Cut the cooled blondies into squares and serve. Enjoy the rich flavors of the sweet blondies and the burst of salted caramel!
