Easy Baked Chicken Parmesan with Garlic Bread

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)

1 cup marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnishing (optional)

1 loaf of French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your chicken bakes evenly and comes out perfectly golden brown.

    Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano on both sides. This will infuse flavor into the chicken as it bakes.

      Breading Station: Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for the flour, one for the beaten eggs, and the last for the breadcrumbs. First, coat each chicken breast in flour, shaking off any excess, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally press it into the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.

        Bake the Chicken: Place the breaded chicken breasts onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/75°C) and the coating is golden brown.

          Add the Sauce and Cheese: Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce on top of each breast. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the sauce. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
