Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)

2 cups fresh broccoli florets (steamed and chopped)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup whole milk

4 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

1/4 cup diced onion (optional)

1 tablespoon olive oil (if using onion)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the broccoli: If you haven’t already, steam your broccoli florets until they’re bright green and slightly tender (about 3-4 minutes). Chop them into small pieces and set aside.

Cook the onion (if using): In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until they turn golden brown and become translucent (about 5 minutes). Set aside to cool slightly.

Combine the filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme (if using). Mix until smooth.

Add the cheese and broccoli: Fold in the chopped broccoli, sautéed onion (if used), and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.

Assemble the quiche: Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the broccoli, cheese, and egg mixture over the crust, spreading it out evenly.

Bake: Carefully place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.

Cool and serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. This will help the quiche set further. Slice and serve warm, or at room temperature.

Enjoy your Easy Cheddar and Broccoli Quiche for a delightful family dinner!
