1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Fresh lemon wedges for serving

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    Prepare the Asparagus: Rinse the asparagus under cold water. Trim off the tough ends, making sure to cut about 2 inches from the bottom of each stalk.

      Make the Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant, but not browned.

        Coat the Asparagus: In a large bowl, place the trimmed asparagus. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the asparagus and toss to coat evenly.
