Ingredients

12 string mozzarella cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Cheese Sticks: Begin by cutting each string cheese stick in half, creating 24 short mozzarella sticks. Place them on a plate and freeze for at least 1 hour. This will prevent them from melting too quickly during frying.

Set Up Your Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, add the flour seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper. In the second bowl, beat the two large eggs. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt.

Bread the Cheese Sticks: Remove the frozen mozzarella sticks from the freezer. First, roll a cheese stick in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure it sticks well. Repeat this process for all the cheese sticks.

Double Dip (Optional): For an extra crunch, dip each breaded cheese stick back into the egg mixture and then back into the breadcrumbs for a second layer of coating.

Fry the Mozzarella Sticks: In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the breaded cheese sticks in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve: Serve your Golden Crunch Mozzarella Sticks hot with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy the delightful crunch and gooey cheese goodness!
