Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and pressed

2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a vegan version)

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 teaspoons sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Cooking spray or oil for grilling

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu: After draining the tofu, wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and press down gently to extract any excess moisture. Cut the tofu into thick slices or cubes, as preferred.

Make the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey (or maple syrup), Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.

Marinate the Tofu: Place the tofu pieces in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure all pieces are well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you're using a grill pan indoors, lightly mist it with cooking spray or brush with oil to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Tofu for Grilling: Remove the tofu from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu pieces, turning them gently to coat. This will help create a crispy texture when grilled.

Grill the Tofu: Place the tofu on the preheated grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until you achieve nice grill marks and the tofu has a nice char. Turn the pieces carefully to avoid breaking them.

Serve: Once grilled to perfection, remove the tofu from the grill. Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with any leftover marinade (which can be heated if you prefer) or serve with extra Sriracha on the side. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Enjoy: Serve your Honey Sriracha Grilled Tofu hot, accompanied by steamed rice or in a fresh salad for a delightful meal!
