Ingredients

1 package (14 oz) of refrigerated crescent roll dough

6 oz thinly sliced ham

6 oz shredded Swiss cheese

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Open the package of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it onto a clean surface. Separate the triangles of dough along the perforated edges.

Spread the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and honey if using. Spread about ½ teaspoon of the mixture onto the larger end of each triangle of dough.

Add Ham and Cheese: Layer 1-2 slices of ham on each triangle, followed by a generous tablespoon of shredded Swiss cheese. Season lightly with freshly cracked black pepper.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle toward the point to form a croissant shape. Ensure the ham and cheese is tucked inside.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place each rolled croissant on the prepared baking sheet. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the top of each croissant with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for added color and flavor. Serve warm as a delightful appetizer or snack!
