Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, sliced

3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Green onions, sliced, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef:

    - In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.

      Cook the Broccoli:

        - In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and are crisp-tender. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

          Stir-Fry the Beef:

            - In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding). Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

              Sauté Aromatics:

                - In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.

                  Combine Ingredients:

                    - Return the broccoli to the skillet along with the cooked beef. Pour in the remaining soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.

                      Serve:

                        - Serve the beef and broccoli over a bed of cooked rice or quinoa. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
