Ingredients

1 pound (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup snap peas

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

2 green onions, chopped

Cooked jasmine or basmati rice, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to ensure all the beef is coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

Prepare the Veggies: Wash and chop the red bell pepper, broccoli, and snap peas. Set them aside.

Heat the Wok: In a large wok or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot wok in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2 minutes without stirring to get a nice browning, then stir-fry for an additional minute. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then toss in the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the red bell pepper, broccoli, and snap peas, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine & Finish: Return the beef to the wok. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through. If desired, sprinkle the chopped green onions on top for added flavor.

Serve: Serve the stir-fry over hot cooked jasmine or basmati rice. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
