1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon (zest and juice)

4 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Prepare Ingredients: Rinse and pat dry the shrimp. Rinse and trim the asparagus, cutting them into 2-inch pieces. Mince the garlic and zest the lemon, then juice it, separating the juice from the zest.

    Heat Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.

      Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 2-3 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

        Sauté Asparagus: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Toss in the asparagus pieces, seasoning with a bit more salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but still crisp.

          Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the asparagus. Add in the lemon juice and zest, tossing everything to combine well. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.

            Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
