1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

1 large egg

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Sandwich Filling:

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (or your choice of protein)

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Additional fresh chives for garnish (optional)

Preheat the Waffle Iron: Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

    Prepare the Waffle Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives, stirring until evenly combined.

      Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
