Ingredients

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup milk (for brushing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, softened butter, and egg. Mix until smooth and well blended.

Add Herbs and Spices: Stir in the chopped rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the ricotta mixture.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and Parmesan cheese until evenly combined.

Make the Dough: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.

Form the Scones: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a circle about 1-inch thick. Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut the circle into 8 wedges.

Prepare for Baking: Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with milk to ensure a golden brown finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the scones are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the scones cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Serve warm, either plain or with additional butter.
