Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons water

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to coat and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prep the other ingredients.

Prepare the Broccoli: In a skillet or wok over medium heat, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until vibrant and tender-crisp. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring to get a good sear, then stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.

Combine Ingredients: Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and cooked broccoli back into the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine everything evenly.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, sesame oil, and water. Pour this sauce into the skillet, stirring everything together to coat the beef and broccoli well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli mixture over the bed of cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added crunch.
