Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

2 tbsp chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil

6 slider buns

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)

Optional: fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until transparent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Cook the Turkey: Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Add Flavorings: Stir in the tomato sauce, chipotle peppers, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine all the flavors. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes so the flavors meld together.

Prepare the Buns: While the turkey mixture simmers, lightly toast the slider buns in a clean skillet or under a broiler for a couple of minutes until golden brown.

Assemble the Sliders: Spoon a generous amount of the spicy turkey mixture onto the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.

Finish & Serve: Place the top half of the buns over the filled sliders and, if desired, sprinkle fresh cilantro on top for an extra kick of flavor. Serve immediately, and enjoy your spicy masterpiece!
