Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free)

1 small onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

4 whole wheat burger buns

Fresh lettuce, sliced tomato, and red onion for serving

Instructions

Prep the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped spinach, feta cheese, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty—this helps them cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up.

Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers: Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet or on a griddle until lightly browned. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add the cooked turkey patty, slice some fresh tomatoes and red onions on top, and finish with the top half of the bun.

Serve & Enjoy: Serve the burgers with your favorite condiments or a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad. Enjoy your healthy and delicious Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers!
