Ingredients

8 slices of thick-cut bread (Brioche or Challah is recommended)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract (for the egg mixture)

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh berries (for garnish, optional)

Whipped cream (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and well-combined. Set aside.

Assemble the French Toast: Take a slice of bread, spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side, then top with another slice of bread to form a sandwich. Repeat for all slices to create 4 sandwiches.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted and slightly bubbling, prepare to cook the stuffed French toast.

Dip & Cook: Take each sandwich and dip it into the egg mixture, coating both sides well. Then, place it on the skillet. Repeat with 2 sandwiches at a time to avoid overcrowding the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Add more butter as needed.

Serve: Once cooked, transfer the stuffed French toast to a plate. Drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with fresh berries and whipped cream if desired.

Enjoy: Slice the French toast in half to reveal the creamy filling inside and serve warm for the best experience!
